Outer Banks Wedding Association 13th Annual Wedding Expo Pointers

We are all working hard getting ready for the 13Th annual Wedding expo January 8-9 and this year will be bigger than ever! Here are some pointers to make your weekend most enjoyable! 1.Be sure to attend all activities for the weekend. 2.Print out labels with name, address, phone number, email address many vendors require brides to fill out contact sheets this saves time and energy! 3. Wear comfortable shoes! 4. Dress comfortably the less you have to carry the more hands on you can be. 5. Bring a friend or family member that can help you make decisions and carry bags .Two sets of ears are better than one you will receive a lot of information! 6. Festival of Trees

The Outer Banks Wedding Association recently supported a local charity here on the Outer Banks. The festival of trees is a three day long event that is hosted by Hot line which is a shelter for women and children who need assistance with food and shelter. The three day event ends with an auction of Live Frasier fur trees decorated with themes by local businesses that include gift certificates, lights and decorations.The Outer Banks Wedding Association raised 1,300.00 from our tree themed "Share the Love" Second Honeymoon! We would like to give big thanks to all the businesses that donated to this great charity!

The Outer Banks is one of the most popular coastal wedding destinations in the country and the Outer Banks Wedding Association is the premier service organization for our area wedding professionals. With over 200 members, we are one of the largest wedding associations in the region. We are proud you have considered us to be a resource for your wedding planning process. Our Wedding weekend & Expo starts on Saturday, January 9th with a wedding tour of the Best of the Outer Banks wedding businesses, followed by a fun Welcome Reception that evening and culminating in our Bridal Expo on Sunday.

Weekend Schedule of Events: Saturday from 10am to 4pm is the Wedding Tour portion of our wedding weekend. This is a self-guided tour of the Outer Banks’ best ceremony/reception sites, rental & event homes, hotels and other wedding-related businesses. Some locations will have other vendors on display and available for you to meet in conjunction with their pro ducts, services and venues. All businesses on the Wedding Tour will be ready to meet you as you visit them at your leisure and in the or der of your choice. It is our hope that you have a terrific time touring the Outer Banks and exploring the different venues and businesses that can make your wedding a very special and memorable day.

The Outer Banks Wedding Association hosts a Meet & Greet Welcome Reception Saturday evening, complete with food, music, entertainment and more! This is a great opportunity to obtain promotional material, sample catering dishes, taste cakes & confections, hear live music and DJ services, view photographer’s work, and mingle wit h our wedding professionals before attending the Expo on Sunday.

On Sunday, January 10th, the Wedding Expo features our wedding vendors ready to showcase their event venues, products, services and more! Visit each vendor’s booth to learn about everything they offer to make you special day one to remember on the Outer Banks! Look forward to a day filled with food, fun, prizes, entertainment and a fashion show highlighting the latest beach wedding trends.

The Outer Banks Wedding Association has unveiled our new website, just in time for the heavily trafficked peak season. A complete resource for anyone wishing to get married on the Outer Banks, obxwa.com features dynamic graphics showcasing beach nuptials, helpful articles and how-to's, and a fact filled guide to 200 businesses dedicated to making each wedding a unique, beautiful, and memorable experience.

A new blog section will keep brides up to date on the association and related events and they can also read the latest issue of Outer Banks Bride magazine online, browse for ideas in the Real Weddings section, and find out what thousands of loving couples discover every year, that we are "hours away, but worlds apart".

The Outer Banks Wedding Association can now be found on Charter Cable Channel 12 with our exciting new program aimed at showing potential brides how easy and yet amazing an Outer Banks Wedding can be.

Produced entirely by members of the marketing group, the program showcases areas from Carova to Ocracoke, our history, natural beauty, and ease of access while promoting a wonderful experience for friends and family as they enjoy the wealth of recreational opportunities all around. With over 200 member businesses dedicated to making each wedding beautiful, unique, and the memory of a lifetime, OBWA has helped make the Outer Banks one of America's premiere wedding destinations.

The program is running 6 times daily on Charter channel 12 in the northern beaches and at various times throught the day in the Hatteras market.
